Retro gaming platform Evercade has announced a collaboration with id Software to bring Doom to its cartridge-based console ecosystem.

The announcement was made via a reveal trailer posted earlier today, marking a significant addition to Evercade’s growing library of classic titles. Details remain sparse at this stage, with the teaser simply displaying “Doom x Evercade” branding.

The timing of the reveal is particularly notable, coming during id Software’s 35th anniversary celebrations.

Evercade, operated by UK-based Blaze Entertainment, has built its business around officially licensed cartridge collections for its range of retro gaming hardware including the Evercade handheld, Evercade VS home console, and the recently released Evercade Alpha bartop arcade machine.

The platform has previously secured partnerships with major publishers including Capcom, Atari, Bandai Namco, and most recently SNK for Neo Geo titles.

The original Doom, released in December 1993, effectively established the first-person shooter genre and remains one of the most influential games in video gaming history. It has been ported to virtually every gaming platform since its release, making an Evercade version a logical if somewhat unexpected addition to its legacy.

No details have been released regarding which specific Doom titles will be included in the collection, pricing, or release date. Evercade typically bundles multiple games per cartridge, though it’s unclear whether this partnership will include only the original Doom or expand to include Doom II and other entries from the classic era.
